HOW DO I KNOW IF MY CHILD NEEDS TO SEE A SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST?

Caregiver intuition is real. If you feel like something isn't right with your child's speech or feeding development, please reach out! Research shows that early intervention is crucial for improving outcomes.

DOES MY CHILD NEED AN EVALUATION, OR CAN WE GO STRAIGHT TO THERAPY?

We will complete an evaluation prior to beginning therapy. This evaluation will provide information that I will use to create specific, individualized goals for your child.  If your child has had an evaluation completed in the last 3 months, I will review the reports to determine if we need more information before beginning therapy.

HOW LONG ARE THERAPY APPOINTMENTS?

That depends on the needs of your child! Most children are seen for 30-minute sessions, though 60-minute sessions can be arranged. However, I find that young children tend to fatigue after the 30-minute mark--even though it looks like we're playing, they're working hard!

WILL MY INSURANCE COVER MY VISIT?

Chomp and Chat Speech Therapy is not credentialed with insurance companies and is strictly private pay. You can, however, use your HSA/FSA to pay for services. A superbill can be provided for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. It is your responsibility to understand your insurance benefits.
